Brussels Workshop

 'Agency concept and policy research'

International Trade Union House, Education International Brussels

15th April 2011, 10.00-18.00

The additional one day training event took place at our EduWel partner Education International and allowed broad perspectives into agency and policy research. It focused on a deeper discussion of the agency concept and how ESRs plan to operationalize the concept in their research design and data collection. Furthermore the group received an overview of key considerations for ESRs researching policy, including policy levels, stages, discourses and interest groups. Another highlight of the day was the deeper insight into the work of Education International.

Guntars Catlaks, research coordinator at Education International gave a very informative and inspiring introduction into the work and resources of Education International. The EI role in current worldwide international education and policy researchs, e.g. its involvement in the preparation of OECD surveys was discussed.
